Abstract

Pada tahun 2020, terdapat wabah virus baru, yaitu COVID-19. Virus tersebut menyebar lebih dari 210 negara di dunia sehingga dinyatakan sebagai pandemi oleh World Health Organization (WHO). Seiring dengan meningkatnya penyebaran yang sangat cepat, pemerintah di Indonesia menerapkan beberapa aturan seperti mengatur kepada seluruh instansi baik negeri maupun swasta untuk mulai bekerja dari rumah, serta kegiatan di sekolah diganti menjadi belajar dari rumah. Kondisi seperti ini menimbulkan stres bagi siswa yang belajar dari rumah (learn from home). Stres yang bersifat akademis ini disebut sebagai stres akademis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan 450 siswa SMA kelas 10 dan 11 (usia 15-17 tahun) di Indonesia yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran stres akademis siswa SMA selama pandemi COVID-19. Instrumen yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah Educational Stress Scale for Adolescent (ESSA) dari Sun et al. (2011). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 81,6% siswa SMA kelas 10 dan 11 selama Pandemi COVID-19 termasuk ke dalam kategori stres akademis tinggi. Stres akademis tinggi diantara siswa SMA tersebut paling banyak dimiliki oleh siswa kelas 11 dan yang berusia 16 tahun. Stres akademis pada siswa perempuan lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki dengan jumlah persentase siswa perempuan yaitu sebesar 67,1% sedangkan siswa laki-laki sebesar 14,4%. Pendidikan terakhir orang tua yang paling banyak dimiliki oleh responden adalah pendidikan SMA. Siswa dengan pendidikan terakhir orang tua adalah SMA memiliki stres akademis yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan jenjang pendidikan terakhir ayah dan ibu lainnya. Sebaliknya, stres akademis sangat rendah ditunjukkan pada siswa dengan pendidikan terakhir ayah dan ibu yang lebih tinggi, yaitu S2/S3. Kata kunci: Pandemi COVID-19, Stres akademis, Siswa SMA. In 2020, there is a new virus outbreak, namely COVID-19. The virus has spread to more than 210 countries in the world so it has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). The movement of the virus is very rapid, the government in Indonesia applies several regulations that apply to the government and the government to start working from home, as well as activities in schools that are replaced by learning from home. This situation makes the students stress which is referred to as academic stress. This study is a descriptive quantitative involved 450 high school students grades 10 and 11 (ages 15-17 years) in Indonesia to describe the academic stress of high school students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The instrument used in this study was the Stress Education Scale for Youth (ESSA) from Sun et al. (2011). The results of this study showed that 81.6% of high school students grades 10 and 11 during the COVID-19 Pandemic is in the category of high academic stress. They are mostly students in grade 11 and 16 years old. The academic stress in female students was higher than male students which female students at 67.1% while male students at 14.4%. The most recent education of parents by respondents was in high school education. Students with the recent education of parents are high school students who have higher academic stress compared to the other recent education of fathers and mothers. In reverse, academic stress was very low in students with higher father and mother education, namely S2 / S3. Keywords: COVID-19 Pandemic, Academic stress, High school students
