Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap kesehatan mental pada mahasiswa rantau di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur dukungan sosial yaitu Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MPPS) oleh Zimet dan untuk kesehatan mental yaitu Mental Health Inventory (MHI) oleh Veit dan Ware. Data dalam penelitian ini diambil secara daring dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 133 orang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (p) sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima yaitu terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial terhadap kesehatan mental mahasiswa rantau di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Pengaruh yang diberikan dukungan sosial terhadap kesehatan mental adalah 17,2% dan 82,8% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain selain dukungan sosial. The study aims to determine the effect of social support on mental health in overseas students at State University of Jakarta. This research using quantitative methods. The measuring instrument used to measure social support is the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MPPS) by Zimet and for mental health is Mental Health Inventory (MHI) by Veit and Ware. Furthermore, data in this study were taken online with 133 respondents. The result of this study indicates a significance value (p) of 0,000 (p <0.05). Based on these result, it can be concluded that the hypothesis of this study has been accepted, which stated that there is a significant effect of social support on mental health of overseas students at State University of Jakarta. The effect which given by social support on mental health is 17.2% and another 82.8% was affected by other variables besides social support.
