Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of providing optical tools such as fresnel lens and flat mirrors on the optimization of the power output of solar cell. Where various treatments with optical devices as a medium are given to solar cells and with existing data can determine which optical device has a significant impact on the power output of solar cells. This type of quasi-experimental research uses a quantitive approach based on data from the voltage, current, and power generated by solar cells. The data analysis technique used is a comparative study, in which the researcher compares the data generated by the various treatments given. The result showed that the provision of an optical device had a significant impact on the power output generated by solar cells, the addition of an optical device in the form of a flat mirror, obtained by increase in the percentage of voltage by 3.14%, current of 2,37%, power of 4,77%. In the addition of an optical instrument in the form of a fresnel lens, the percentage increase in voltage was 14,64%, the current was 21,92%, the power was 38,47%. In the addition of an optical device with a fresnel lens and a flat mirror, the percentage increase in voltage was 15,90%, the current 26,61%, the power was 45,63%. And in the end, the solar cell with the addition of a combined optical device with a fresnel lens and flat mirror produced the most significant improvements compared to the other behaviors.
