Abstract

Prinsip kerja sama yang berisikan maksim (kualitas, quantitas, tata cara, dan hubungan) untuk diikuti agar kegiatan komunikasi bisa berjalan secara seimbang antara lawan bicara, menjadi prinsip berkomunikasi yang memiliki dampak yang positif terhadap kegiatan belajar. Karena itu, penting bagi guru-pelajar untuk mampu mengaplikasikan prinsip kerja sama sejak dini. Salah satu kegiatan yang dapat mengasah kemampuan tersebut adalah microteaching. Akan tetapi, bagiamana guru-pelajar mengaplikasikan prinsip Kerjasama pada kegiatan micro teaching tidak pernah didiskusikan secara mendalam pada studi – studi sebelumnya. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana guru-pelajar dari Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris UNJ mengaplikasikan prinsip Kerjasama dalam kegiatan micro teaching. untuk mendapatkan deskripsi dari prinsip tersebut, penelitian ini mengugnakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dalam mendeskripsikan 5 dari 23 video yang dipilih menggunakan convenience sampling. Hasil transkripsi dari kelima video tersebut dianalisis dan dikelompokan berdasarkan kriteria maksim kualitas, jumlah, cara penyampaian, dan relasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1) prinsip kerjasama sudah diaplikasikan oleh guru-pelajar tetapi tidak pada setiap ucapan yang dikeluarkan pada kegiatan micro teaching karena ada beberapa ucapan yang tidak menerapkan keempat maksim dari prinsip kerjasama. (2) maksim terkait kualitas adalah maksim yang diaplikasikan lebih banyak dibanding maksim lain. (3) maksim terkait cara penyampaian diaplikasikan lebih sedikit disbanding maksim lain. Cooperative principle as a set of maxims (quality, quantity, manner, and relation) to be fulfilled in order to communicate cooperatively and appropriately is a set of communication principle that Is impactful to be applied in a learning activity. Hence, it is important for student teachers to learn to apply the principle. One activity that enables them to do so is through microteaching. However, how the student teachers apply cooperative principle in their microteaching activity has never been discussed thoroughly in the previous studies. This study aims to describe the application of cooperative principle by student teachers of ELESP UNJ in their microteaching activity. To gain the description of the principle, this study uses qualitative descriptive method in describing 5 out of 22 microteaching videos that are chosen by convenient sampling. The transcription of the 5 videos are analyzed and being grouped based on the criteria maxim of quality, quantity, manner, and relation. The findings show that (1) the cooperative principle is applied by the student teachers but not in all of the utterances produced throughout the microteaching activity because there are utterances that do not apply all the maxims of cooperative principle. (2) maxim of quality is applied more in the utterances than the other maxims. (3) maxim of manner is applied less in the utterances than the other maxims.
