Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara harga diri dengan Penggunaan Internet Bermasalah pada dewasa muda dan untuk mengetahui apakah perilaku penggunaan internet yang berlebihan dipengaruhi oleh harga diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data non-probability accidental sampling. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 147 orang remaja berusia 19-40 tahun dengan karakteristik pengguna internet yang berdomisili di Kota Jakarta. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan skala Likert yaitu Generalized Problematic Internet Use 2 dan Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan Pearson Product Moment diperoleh koefisien korelasi -,174 dan p= 0,035 (p >0,05), maka terdapat hubungan antara harga diri dengan Penggunaan Internet Bermasalah pada dewasa muda, walaupun hubungan yang terjadi adalah hubungan negatif yaitu semakin tinggi harga diri individu maka Penggunaan Internet Bermasalah akan rendah, begitu pula sebaliknya, semakin tinggi Penggunaan Internet Bermasalah individu maka semakin rendah harga dirinya. This research uses quantitative research methods with nonprobability accidental sampling data collection techniques. The study was conducted on 147 teenagers aged 19-40 years with the characteristics of internet users who live in the city of Jakarta. Data collection tools using a Likert scale are Generalized Problematic Internet Use 2 and Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale.
