Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pemanfaatan Laboratorium bahasa dan hasil penggunaan laboratorium bahasa dalam pembelajaran menyimak bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan permainan kata di SMA Sandikta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Sandikta kelas XI IPA. Tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April 2014 sampai dengan Juni 2015. Insrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes, pedoman observasi, pedoman wawancara, jurnal peserta didik dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah tes tulis, observasi, wawancara, jurnal dan dokumentasi. Langkah-langkah analisis data yang dilakukan adalah (a) pengumpulan data, (b) reduksi data, (c) penyajian data, (d) penyimpulan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan menyimak (listening) bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan permainan kata. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai data-data peserta didik persiklus, yaitu siklus 1 nilai rata-rata peserta didik 60,375 sedangkan pada siklus 2 nilai rata-rata peserta didik 81,25 jadi media laboratorium bahasa dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar menyimak peserta didik. ********* The objective of research is to find out whether English listening skill can be improved through the language laboratory by using playing words. It was a quantitative qualitative approach. This research was conducted at the eleventh grade at SMA Sandiktaschool year 2014/2015. This study used action research methods which involved two cycles. The research carried out in April 2014 to May 2015. The data were collected through test, observation, interview, student’s journal and documentation. Based on the data from the pre test, it shows that the students’ competencies in listening English is still low.After given treatment throughout the cycles (planning, acting, observing, and reflecting) and the result of post tests, the students’ skill in listening English had been improved. The result shows that the students are interested and enjoyed during the process. The studernts listen better after the treatment. Thefindings of the analysis is trengthen by quantitative data analysiswhich shows an increase in listening skills (listening) English. It can be seen from the data of the students, in cycle 1, average value of 60.375 students while in the cycle 2 of the average value of 81.25 students. Therefore, there is improvement in English listening skill through language laboratory by using playing words.
