Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh pemahaman yang mendalam mengenai pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Inggris berbasis kurikulum plus di Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan catatan lapangan. Analisis data menggunakan empat tahapan yang dikemukakan oleh spradley yaitu analisis domain, taksonomi, komponen dan tema budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) proses pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris dilakukan melalui interaksi tiga arah yaitu interaksi komunikasi diadik, berkelompok dan berkeliling siswa, (2) bahan ajar yang digunakan bersumber dari buku teks wajib, buku teks relavan, dan internet, (3) Jenis pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu komunikatif, konstektual dan saintifik; metode pembelajaran yang digunakan yaitu cooperative learning, communicative language learning, self-directed-learning dan communicative language teaching sedangkan teknik pembelajaran yang digunakan show and tell, presentasi, drama, dan question and answer, (4) Budaya belajar siswa melalui belajar kelompok, wajib menggunakan bahasa Inggris, saling menyapa menggunakan bahasa Inggris, lomba pidato dan debat bahasa Inggris, menghafal kosa kata, praktek mengajar, percakapan dan story-telling. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa proses pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris berbasis kurikulum plus efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa di MA Darul Ulum. **** This study aims to obtain a deep understanding of teaching speaking skillbased on curriculum plus in Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum. This study used a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. Research data obtained through observation, interviews, and field notes. Data analysis used four stages proposed by Spradley, namely analysis of domain, taxonomic, component and cultural theme. The results showed that (1) the process of teachingspeaking skills was carried out through three-way interactions, namely dyadic communication, in groups,walkingaround the students. (2) teaching materials used from mandatory textbooks, relevant textbooks, and internet, (3) The types of approaches used are communicative, contextual and scientific.The method of teachingare cooperative learning, communicative language learning, self-directed-learning, and communicative language teaching. The teaching techniques are show and tell, presentations,drama, and question and answer,(4) studentslearning culture in the form of group learning, the obligation to use English in school, greet each other using English, English speech contest, memorizing vocabulary, debate competition, teaching practice, conversation and story-telling. Based on the research findings, the authorconclude that the teaching speaking based on the Plus curriculum was effective in improving students' speaking skills at MA Darul Ulum.
