Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki bagaimana Joko Widodo di representasikan oleh media online The Jakarta Post dan The Jakarta Globe. Data yang digunakan adalah tiga artikel berita dari The Jakarta Post yang merepresentasikan Joko Widodo dantiga artikel berita dari The Jakarta Globe. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskripsi analisis dari Kutha Ratna (2004) untuk menganalisis data. Penelitian ini menggunakan Systemic Functional Linguistics yang berfokus pada transitivity analisis dari M.A.K Halliday. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa proses dominan yang merepresentasikan Joko Widodo di kedua berita online tersebut. Proses tersebut adalah materialdan verbal process. Disamping kedua proses tersebut terdapat beberapa proses lainnya seperti mental process, relational process danexistensial process.Semua proses yang merepresentasikan Joko Widodo di beritaonlineThe Jakarta Post adalah pemimpin yang bertanggung jawab, jujur, tepat waktu dalam menyelesaikan program kerjanya. Sedangkandi beritaonline The Jakarta Globe, Joko Widodo direpresentasikan sebagai pemimpin yang tidak menepati janji-janjinya, tidak dapat menyelesaikan dan melalaikan program kerja khususnya dalam program hukum dan HAM. This research aims to investigate how Joko Widodo is represented by The Jakarta Post and The Jakarta Globe online. The source of data was three articles from The Jakarta Post and three articles from The Jakarta Globe concerning the representation of Joko Widodo towards. This research uses descriptive analytical interpretive method from Kutha Ratna (2004) to analyze the data. This research uses Systemic Functional Linguistic that focused on the transitivity analysis by M.A.K Halliday. The research shows that there are two dominant processes in the articles to represent Joko Widodo. The processes are material and verbal process. Beside the two processes, there are still another processes, mental, relational and existential process. All the processes represent Joko Widodo as the leader who is responsible, honest and on time in completing his work program. Moreover, in The Jakarta Globe online newspaper, Joko Widodo is represented as the leader who has yet to fulfill his campaign and neglected his work program especially in human rights amid law.
