Abstract

Kepala sekolah dianggap sebagai kekuatan utama yang penting untuk keberhasilan sekolah. Melalui kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dapat menciptakan kondisi yang optimal untuk mendukung pembelajaraan siswa dengan membina interaksi social yang positif dan merangsang perkembangan intelektual. Peran kepala sekolah dianggap sangat vital dikarenakan dengan kekuasaan yang dimilikinya dapat membawa menuju keberhasilan ataupun sebaliknya. Hal ini semua kembali tergantung kepada komitmen organisasi kepala sekolah terhadap sekolah yang dipimpinnya Penelitin ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur organisasi, kekuasaan pemimpin, kepribadian, pengambilan keputusan dan komitmen organisasi kepala sekolah menengah atas negeri di Provinsi DKI Jakarta. Selain itu, untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan masing-masing variabel baik hubungan secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan rancangan penelitian survey yang menggunkan pendekatan path analisis. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kepala sekolah menengah atas negeri dengan sampel sebanyak 89 kepala sekolah. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrument berupa kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan komitmen organisasi kepala sekolah di pengaruhi lebih dominan oleh variabel kepribadian dan diikuti pengambilan keputusan dan struktur organisasi. Berdasarkan data yang ditemukan di lapangan dapat disimpulkan bahwa komitmen organisasi kepala sekolah saat ini dirasakan belum maksimal, belum semua kepala sekolah yang memiliki komitmen yang kuat untuk sekolahnya. ************** The principal is considered to be the main force that is important for school success. Through the leadership of the principal can create optimal conditions to support student learning by fostering positive social interactions and stimulating intellectual development. The role of the principal is considered very vital because with the power he has can lead to success or vice versa. This all depends on the organizational commitment of the principal to the school he leads. This study aims to describe the organizational structure, power of the leader, personality, decision making and organizational commitment of the head of a high school in the DKI Jakarta Province. In addition, to find out whether there is a relationship between each variable both the relationship directly and indirectly. The approach used in this study is quantitative with a survey research design that uses the path analysis approach. The population of this study were all public high school principals with a sample of 89 school principals. The data collection technique uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The results showed that the organizational commitment of principals was influenced more dominantly by personality variables and followed by decision making and organizational structure. Based on data found in the field, it can be concluded that the current organizational commitment of principals is not yet optimal, not all principals have strong commitment to their schools.
