Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris pengaruh good corporate governance terhadap kinerja perusahaan pada perusahaan transportasi dan hospitality yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) periode 2014-2018. Variabel bebas yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari board gender diversity, board meeting, executive compensation, foreign ownership, dan ownership concentration. Variabel terikat yang digunakan adalah kinerja perusahaan. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan variabel kontrol yang terdiri dari ukuran perusahaan dan leverage. Data yang digunakan sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini berupa laporan keuangan dan laporan tahunan perusahaan transportasi dan hospitality yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) periode 2014-2018. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah 146 observasi. Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah unbalanced data panel dengan pendekatan random effect model. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini yaitu board meeting tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan yang diproksikan dengan ROA maupun Tobin’s Q, board gender diversity berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Tobin’s Q namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap ROA, foreign ownership berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap ROA namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap Tobin’s Q, serta executive compensation dan ownership concentration berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap ROA namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap Tobin’s Q. The aims of this study is to test empirically the effect of good corporate governance on firm performance of transportation and hospitality firms listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2014-2018. Independent variable of this study are board gender diversity, board meeting, executive compensation, foreign ownership, and ownership concentration. Meanwhile dependent variable is firm performance. Then control variable of this study are firm size and leverage. The data used in this study was taken from financial and annual report of transportation and hospitality firms listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2014-2018. The sampling method of this study is purposive sampling technique with 146 observations. The research model used is an unbalanced data panel with random effect model approach. The results obtained from this research are board meetings have no significant effect on firm performance as proxied by ROA or Tobin's Q, board gender diversity has a positive and significant effect on Tobin's Q but has no effect on ROA, foreign ownership has a negative and significant effect on ROA but has no effect on Tobin's Q, meanwhile executive compensation and ownership concentration has a positive and significant effect on ROA but has no effect on Tobin's Q Keywords: Firm Performance, Good Corporate Governance, Board Gender Diversity, Board Meeting, Executive Compensation, Foreign Ownership, Ownership Concentration.
