Abstract

Skripsi yang berjudul “Sarwo Edhie Wibowo Pasca Peristiwa G30SPKI Tahun 1967-1989” membahas tentang peran dan kebijakan yang dibuat pada jenjang karir militer dan non-militer pasca peristiwa G30SPKI hingga beliau meninggal serta pandangan dari orang-orang disekitar melihat sosok Sarwo Edhie Wibowo semasa hidup. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi persaingan politik pada era Orde Baru. Masa Orde Baru terdapat istilah “Matahari Kembar” yaitu adanya dua sosok yang berpengaruh yaitu Soeharto dan Sarwo Edhie Wibowo. Kedudukan politik Soeharto yang lebih tinggi mampu menyingkirkan saingan politiknya. Salah satu orang yang disingkirkan adalah Sarwo Edhie Wibowo yang memiliki prestasi gemilang menumpas G30SPKI. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah yang meliputi lima tahap yaitu pemilihan topik, heuristik atau mencari sumber, kritik atau verifikasi, interpretasi, dan penulisan atau historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian adalah peran-peran yang dilakukan Sarwo Edhie Wibowo didunia militer, politik dan olahraga. Peran yang dilakukannya berhasil membuat Indonesia lebih maju. Kemajuannya dijelaskan dalam penelitian ini dibagi menjadi beberapa bab antara lain menjadi Duta Besar Luar Biasa dan Berkuasa Penuh Republik Indonesia di Korea Selatan dan Ketua Pengurus Besar Taekwondo Indonesia (PBTI) bahkan peran di Taekwondo Indonesia dirasakan hingga abad ke-21. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Sarwo Edhie Wibowo tetap berkonstribusi untuk Indonesia walaupun jauh dari pusat kekuasaan. Seorang yang berjasa di Peristiwa G30SPKI dan dihormati oleh masyarakat disingkirkan karena dianggap akan mengkudeta Presiden Soeharto.   The thesis entitled "Sarwo Edhie Wibowo Post-G30SPKI Events 1967-1989" discusses the roles and policies made in the military and non-military career levels after the G30SPKI incident until his death and the views of people around him saw the figure of Sarwo Edhie Wibowo during his life. . This research was motivated by political competition in the New Order era. During the New Order era, there was the term "Twin Suns", namely the existence of two influential figures, namely Suharto and Sarwo Edhie Wibowo. Soeharto's higher political position was able to eliminate his political rivals. One of the people who were eliminated was Sarwo Edhie Wibowo, who had a brilliant achievement in destroying G30SPKI. In this study, the authors used the historical research method which includes five stages, namely topic selection, heuristics or source search, criticism or verification, interpretation, and writing or historiography. The result of the research is the roles played by Sarwo Edhie Wibowo in the world of military, politics and sports. The role he has played has succeeded in making Indonesia more advanced. The progress described in this research is divided into several chapters, including being the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia in South Korea and the Chairperson of the Indonesian Taekwondo Executive Board (PBTI) even the role in Taekwondo Indonesia is felt until the 21st century. This study concludes that Sarwo Edhie Wibowo still contributes to Indonesia even though he is far from the center of power. A person who contributed to the G30SPKI incident and was respected by the community was removed because he was considered to be a coup against President Soeharto.
