Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan big five personality terhadap preferensi pemilihan pasangan pada dewasa awal yang mengalami quarter-life crisis dengan metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 434 orang. Sampel dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur Quarter-Life Crisis Diagnosis Quiz untuk menyaring subjek yang mengalami quarter-life crisis. Instrumen Nine Mate Selection Question digunakan untuk mengukur preferensi pemilihan pasangan dan instrumen Big Five Inventory (BFI) digunakan untuk mengukur big five personality. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang bersifat negatif antara dimensi kepribadian neuroticsm terhadap preferensi pemilihan pasangan dengan nilai r sebesar -0.125 dan sig 0.009, sedangkan untuk dimensi kepribadian openess to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, dan agreeableness tidak memiliki hubungan dengan preferensi pemilihan pasangan. *********** This study was conducted to determine the relationship between big five personality toward mate selection preference on early adult who experience quarter-life crisis with the research method is quantitative method. Partisipants in the study are 434 early adults. Samples were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The study used a Quarter-Life Crisis Diagnosis Quiz measuring to screening subjects who experience quarter-life crisis. The Nine Mate Selection Question instrument is used to measure mate selection preference and the Big Five Inventory (BFI) instrument is used to measure big five personalities. The results showed a negative relationship between neuroticsm personality on mate selection preference with a value of r-0.125 and sig 0.009, while dimension openess to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness has no relationship with mate selection preference.
