Abstract

Regulasi diri merupakan proses pengendalian diri berupa respon yang diberikan setelah mendapatkan pengaruh dari interaksi dengan lingkungan untuk memastikan tujuan tercapai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh gambaran kemampuan regulasi diri pada anak bilingual usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini melibatkan 22 anak bilingual di Mentari Intelegensia School. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian adalah Mixed-method Explanatory Design atau sering disebut dengan metode campuran explanatory. Data kuantitatif dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner yang dibagikan kepada orang tua. Sedangkan data kuantitatif dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan anak bilingual di mentari Intelegensia School memiliki kemampuan regulasi diri yang baik, terlihat pada aspek kemampuan kognitif, sosial emosional, dan bahasa yang muncul. Diperlukan dukungan dari lingkungan, pola asuh yang tepat sehingga kemampuan regulasi diri dapat berkembang secara optimal. Self-regulation is a process of self-control in the form of a response given after being influenced by interactions with the environment to ensure that goals are achieved. The purpose of this study was to obtain a description of the self- regulation ability of bilingual children aged 5-6 years. This research involved 22 bilingual children at Mentari Intelligence School. The method used in this research is Mixed-method Explanatory Design or often referred to as mixed explanatory methods. Quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to parents. Meanwhile, quantitative data were collected through interviews and observations. The results showed that bilingual children in Mentari Intelligence School had good self-regulation abilities, seen in the aspects of cognitive, social emotional, and emerging language abilities. Support from the environment and good parenting is needed so the self- regulatory abilities can develop optimally.
