Abstract

PenelitianinibertujuanuntukmenggambarkandaripengaruhKebijakanAsimilasiterhadapkehidupanetnisTionghoadiTajurHalangpadatahun1967-1998.Periodetersebutdipilihkarena,tahun1967bertepatandengandikeluarkannyasebuahperaturanyangberkaitandenganprogramasimilasiyangdikumandangkanolehpemerintahOrdeBaruyaituInstruksiPresidenNo.14Tahun1967mengenaipembatasanterkaitagama,kepercayaan,sertaadatistiadatTionghoadiIndonesia,dengankeluarnyaperaturantersebutdianggappemerintahsebagaisebuahsolusinasionalagarmasyarakatTionghoadapatmelakukanpembauransecaramenyeluruh,sedangkantitikakhirpenelitianiniadalahPeristiwaMei1998.Peristiwatersebutmenjadisebuahhari-hariterkelamdanmenghentakanetnisTionghoanamunmerupakanakhirkeotoriteranrezimOrdeBaruyangmembukaruangkebebasanetnisTionghoauntukberekspresi.Penelitianinimenggunakanmetodehistorisdengandatayangdidapatdarihasiwawancaradankajianpustakayangdisajikansecaradeskriptif-naratifHasilpenelitianinimenunjukanbahwadalamakulturasiMasyarakatTionghoadiTajurHalangdenganmasyarakatlokalyangmayoritassukunyaSundasudahberjalansangatbaguskarena,tidakadanyaperbedaantarifekonomisertasikapoportunisdarietnisTionghoaTajurHalangdenganpenduduklokal.NamunetnisTionghoaTajurmenjadisasarandaribelenggukebijakanasimilasiyangdiciptakanpemerintah,terdapatbanyakhalyangmelatarbelakangiadanyakebijakantersebutdandalampraktikpelaksanaannyaasimilasiberjalandengantidaksesuai,bahkandalambeberapakebijakanSoehartocenderungantiasimilasidandibumbuikepentinganpolitis,ketikaperistiwakerusuhanMei1998berlangsung,daerahTajurHalangtidakberdampaklangsungperistiwatersebut,tetapibanyakmasyarakatTionghoadiIbuKotamenetapdikerabatnyayangberadadiTajurHalangsampaisuasanakembalikondusif This research to describe the impact the policy of assimilation of Chinese ethnic lives in Tajur Halang in 1967-1998. The period was selected because, in 1967, when a rule related to the assimilation program enliceded by the government of the New Order Instruction President no.14 of 1967 ,the restrictions on Chinese religious, beliefs, and customs in Indonesia, the ruling was considered by the government asa national solution to the integration of Chinese people entirely. Whereas the end point of this study is the events of May 1998. The event was one of the darkest days of Chinese ethnic groups, but it was the end of the violence of the new order regime that opened the door to ethnic Chinese freedom of expression. The study used historical methods with data obtained from interviews and literary studies presented in descriptive-narrative manner. The result of this study indicate that in the Chinese ulceration in Tajur Halang is better off with the local people who have a majority of the Sundanese Tribes because the absence of different economic fares and the opportunistic attitudes of Tajur Halang Chinese are better than the local people. But Tajur Halang Chinese are the targets of the assimilation policies created by the government, and in practice of doing so, itis illegal to assimilate and mix political interest with anti-assimilation, But many Chinese in the capital settled with relatives in Tajur Halang without his help until the atmosphere was restored.
