Abstract

Status sosial ekonomi merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi aspirasi karir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran aspirasi karir remaja berdasarkan status sosial ekonomi di SMK swasta di Jakarta Timur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Peneliti menggunakan teknik sampling yaitu teknik proportional random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 177 peserta didik yang terdiri dari 84 peserta didik yang berstatus sosial ekonomi kelas rendah serta 93 peserta didik yang berstatus sosial ekonomi kelas menengah. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah dengan menyebarkan instrumen Aspirasi Karir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) aspirasi karir kelas X dan kelas XI rerata keseluruhan mencapai 2,9 dengan standar deviasi sebesar 0,43 2) aspirasi karir peserta didik yang berstatus sosial ekonomi kelas rendah mencapai rerata 2,7 dengan standar deviasi sebesar 0,43 3) aspirasi karir peserta didik yang berstatus sosial ekonomi kelas menengah mencapai rerata 3,1 dengan standar deviasi sebesar 0,35. Saran bagi guru bimbingan dan konseling dapat membuat program seperti expo career atau yang lainnya agar meningkatkan aspirasi karir peserta didik. Socioeconomic status is one of the factors that influence career aspirations. This study aims to obtain an overview of adolescent career aspirations based on socioeconomic status in private vocational schools in East Jakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Researchers used a sampling technique, namely proportional random sampling technique with a total sample of 177 students consisting of 84 students with low class socioeconomic status and 93 students with middle class socioeconomic status. The data collection was done by distributing the Career Aspirations instrument. The results showed that: 1) the career aspirations of class X and class XI reached an overall mean of 2.9 with a standard deviation of 0.43 2) the career aspirations of students with low class socioeconomic status reached a mean of 2.7 with a standard deviation of 0, 43 3) the career aspirations of students with middle class socioeconomic status reached an average of 3.1 with a standard deviation of 0.35. Suggestions for guidance and counseling teachers can make programs such as career expo or others in order to increase the career aspirations of students.
