Abstract
The purpose of this research was to acquire deep description about depression of the main figure in Dan Hujan pun Berhenti’s Novel by Farida Susanty. This research was taken part from January 2014 to September 2014. It was a qualitative research with content analysis method. This research was analyzed through structural literary approach and psychoanalytic literary approach. The data were collected through document study, data observation about depression in Dan Hujan pun Berhenti’s novel by Farida Susanty, and were checked with novel review and interview. The result of this research indicates that Leo as the main figure suffers depression. In this research was founded seventeen forms of depression, namely neurotic, organic, endogen, schizoaffective, somatogenic, reaction, kidsteenager, exhaustion, symptomatic, mask, situational, holiday blues, endogenous, vegetative, agitative, dysritmic, and psychotic. The dysritmic depression dominates depression from the main figure in its novel (22% or 61 quotation data). Beside the forms of depression, also there were founded symptoms, causes, effects, solutions about depression. The findings lead to recommendation to literature educator in order to use psychology novel in literature lesson. It is also recommended to novel reader, literature researcher, parents, psychologist and psychiatrist
