Abstract
ABSTRAK Penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning, pendekatan saintifik kurikulum 2013, strategi inquiry serta metode diskusi, pemberian tugas, tanya jawab, dan eksperimen dalam pembelajaran Komunikasi Industri Pariwisata ini pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa, pembelajaran menjadi lebih bermakna tidak menghafal, dan membentuk siswa yang aktif, kritis serta kreatif. Dalam penerapan pembelajaran ini mampu menjadikan siswa terampilan dalam berkomunikasi karena dalam proses belajar mengajar berlangsung, siswa tidak boleh pasif tetapi siswa harus aktif dalam pembelajaran ini. Komunikasi Industri Pariwisata mempunyai peranan penting dalam memasuki dunia industri, karena Komunikasi Industri Pariwisata adalah mata pelajaran yang mempelajari teknik komunikasi. Dengan mempelajari teknik komunikasi, siswa mampu mengolah dan melatih keterampilan berkomunikasi yang akan sangat berguna ketika siswa memasuki dunia industri perhotelan. Salah satu departemen yang mengharuskan karyawan dapat berkomunikasi dengan baik yaitu Front Office Department. Front Office Department merupakan salah satu bagian yang langsung memberikan pelayanan kepada tamu dan bertanggung jawab terhadap segala proses pemesanan kamar, baik saat proses check-in maupun checkout. *ABSTRACT* The application of the discovery learning model, the 2013 curriculum scientific approach, the inquiry strategy and discussion methods, assignments, questions and answers, and experiments in the Tourism Industry Communication learning is student-centered learning, learning becomes more meaningful without memorizing, and forms active, critical students as well as creative. In the application of this learning is able to make students skilled in communicating because in the teaching and learning process takes place, students should not be passive but students must be active in this learning. Tourism Industry Communication has an important role in entering the industrial world, because Tourism Industry Communication is a subject that studies communication techniques. By studying communication techniques, students are able to cultivate and practice communication skills that will be very useful when students enter the world of the hospitality industry. One of the departments that require employees to communicate well is the Front Office Department. The Front Office Department is one part that directly provides services to guests and is responsible for all room booking processes, both during the check-in and check-out processes.
