Abstract

Studi ini menyelidiki bagaimana perbedaan dan persamaan transitivitas proses relasional dalam novel Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows dan Harry Potter: Reliku Kematian karya J.K Rowling. Menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis, penilitian ini menganalisis klausa yang menunjukkan penggunaan transitivas proses relasional dalam lima belas bab pertama novel Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows dan Harry Potter: Reliku Kematian karya J.K Rowling. Menggunakan teori transitivitas M.A.K Halliday dan analisis kontrastif untuk menganalisis perbedaan dan persamaan dari transitivitas relasional proses Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Indonesia melalui novel Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows dan Harry Potter: Reliku Kematian karya J.K Rowling. Dari hasil analisis ditemukan bahwa transitivitas relasional proses Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Indonesia memiliki beberapa persamaan dan perbedaan. Persamaannya antara lain adalah transitivitas relasional proses Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Indonesia memiliki struktur dan fungsi yang sama. Meskipun demikian, transitivitas proses relasional dalam Bahasa Indonesia sering kali dihilangkan dengan tujuan untuk menjaga kenaturalan dari teks terjemahannya. Selain itu, penerjemah juga sering mengubah proses relasional menjadi proses material atau proses mental. ***********8 This study explores how the similarities and differences of transitivity relational process in Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows and Harry Potter: Reliku Kematian novel by J.K Rowling are. This study uses a descriptive-analytical method, this tudy analyzed the clauses that show the use of relational process in the first fifth teen chapter of Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows and Harry Potter: Reliku Kematian novel by J.K Rowling. Deploying transitivity process by M.A.K Halliday and Contrastive Analysis to analyze the similarities and differences of relational process in English and in Bahasa Indonesian through the novel of Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows and Harry Potter: Reliku Kematian novel by J.K Rowling. The results show that there are some similarities and differences of relational process in English and in Bahasa Indonesian. The similarities are that the structure of the sentences was same both in English and in Indonesian. Nevertheless, relational process in Bahasa Indonesian are often being omitted in order to make the translated text sounds natural. Furthermore, translator also tends to change the relational process into material process or mental process.
