Abstract

Kata kunci: simulasi virtual, efek fotolistrik, miskonsepsi, four-tier test ************ Photoelectric effect is one of the most difficult topics in physics for students because it is abstract and cannot be observed directly (Unobservable). This is evidenced by the finding of misconceptions in the Photoelectric Effect in preliminary studies and previous studies. Therefore, it is necessary to develop media that can visualize the Virtual Microscopic Simulation (VMS) Smooth Photoelectric Effect material. The purpose of this study was to develop and test the effectiveness of Virtual Microscopic Simulation (VMS) on the Photoelectric Effect material as a medium for learning physics in schools. The research was carried out from January to May 2021. The sample used in the model trial was 119 students. The research method used is the Research and Development (R&D) method. Quasi Experiment method is used to test the effectiveness of the product. The results showed that the Virtual Microscopic Simulation (VMS) material for the Photoelectric Effect was very feasible and effective to be used as a physics learning medium. Based on the validation of material experts by 87%, media experts by 85%, teacher response analysis by 87% and student response analysis by 81%. The results of the M test (adopted from n-gain) showed a positive value with an average value of decreasing misconceptions of 0.53 and the effectiveness of reducing misconceptions of 51%. The test results illustrate that students can construct a correct conception of the Photoelectric Effect material after using VMS as a learning medium. Keywords: virtual simulation, photoelectric effect, misconception, four-tier test
