Abstract
In Indonesia, the position of banks is very significant, for example in terms of development. This is because banks are able to influence the totality of the economic cycle. The increase in demand for bank credit has resulted in increased purchasing power, increased business enthusiasm and investment bonuses. Which in conclusion will produce a multiplier effect. These multiplier effects include the addition of new factory establishments, additional employment, increased demand for raw materials, increased production output and increased purchasing power, which will affect future economic growth. If the loan interest rate is low, this multiplier effect will have an even greater impact. The case in this research is the influence of GDP and interest rates on creditors' demand. The objective of this research is to identify whether GDP and interest rates have an influence on credit demand. The procedure for collecting information used in this research is the observation method non-participant, and the information comes from the website of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), namely www.BPS.co.id. the analysis procedure used is multiple linear regression using the application SPSS 11for windows. This study finds that the Gross Domestic Product has a positive and significant effect on credit demand while interest rates have a negative and insignificant effect on credit demand. Keywords: Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Interest Rates, Credit Demand.
