Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan jenis ungkapan pujian dalam sebuah film bergenre dokumenter olahraga yang berdurasi sekitar satu setengah jam. Penelitian kali ini ditelaah secara kontekstual. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori dari Stephens (dalam Kristanto, 2009: 37) yang membagi jenis ungkapan pujian menjadi empat yaitu pujian kepemilikan, pujian penampilan, pujian perbuatan, dan pujian karakter. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode simak catat yaitu metode yang digunakan dengan cara menyimak penggunaan bahasa dan mencatat data-data yang diperlukan. Kemudian teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini memiliki tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan yang terakhir adalah kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang telah diperoleh maka ditemukan 21 ungkapan pujian yang terbagi menjadi 0 pujian kepemilikan, 1 pujian penampilan, 13 pujian perbuatan, dan 7 pujian karakter. Dari hasil perolehan data tersebut didapati bahwa pujian dalam film Anelka cenderung pada pujian perbuatan karena banyak digambarkan oleh para tokoh yang memberikan pujian atas prestasi yang telah diraih oleh Anelka. This study aims to explain the types of expressions of compliment in a sports documentary genre film which lasts about one and a half hours. This research is analyzed contextually. The theory used is the theory of Stephens (in Kristanto, 2009: 37) which divides the types of expressions of compliment into four, namely compliment of ownership, compliment of appearance, compliment of action, and praise of character. This research is a qualitative research using the note-taking method, which is the method used by listening to the use of language and recording the necessary data. Then the data analysis technique in this study has three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and the last is the conclusion. Based on the results of data analysis that has been obtained, it was found 21 expressions of compliment which are divided into 0 compliment of ownership, 1 compliment of appearance, 13 compliment of deeds, and 7 compliment of character. From the results of the data obtained, it was found that the compliment in Anelka's film tends to compliment of action because many are described by people who give compliment for the achievements that have been achieved by Anelka.
