Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi Augmented Reality dalam Pendidikan telah terbukti dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk sekolah dasar belum banyak memanfaatkan Augmented Reality sebagai media pembelajarannya. Tujuan umum dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris kelas 4 sekolah dasar yang memanfaatkan teknologi Augmented Reality untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata dan pelafalannya. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode research and development (R&D). Dalam pengembangannya menggunakan model multimedia based instructional design (Lee & Owens). Pada tahap evaluasi menggunakan metode evaluasi formatif menurut Dick & Carey, yaitu review by experts, one-to-one evaluation by learners, small group evaluation, dan field trial. Instrumen yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh 3 orang pakar. Uji validitas dan realibilitas dilakukan terhadap soal pretest dan posttest dengan hasil bahwa butir soal valid dan reliabel. Model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan direview oleh pakar desain instruksional, materi, media pembelajaran, dan teknologi informasi hingga dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan. Selanjutnya media pembelajaran diujicobakan melalui tahap evaluasi, yaitu evaluasi one-to-one oleh siswa dengan hasil model pembelajaran layak digunakan, small group evaluation dengan hasil media pembelajaran layak digunakan, serta ujicoba lapangan atau field trial dengan hasil model pembelajaran layak digunakan. Hasil uji kualitas produk diperoleh hasil model pembelajaran memenuhi syarat kevalidan dan kepraktisan. Hasil uji efektivitas dengan membandingkan hasil pretest dan posttest menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan rerata nilai sebesar 16% dan peningkatan jumlah responden dengan kriteria Tuntas sebanyak 55%. Hasil seluruh pengujian di atas menyimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris berbasis Augmented Reality dapat dinyatakan layak dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris khususnya kosakata. Kata Kunci : Augmented Reality, Kosakata Bahasa Inggris, Model Pembelajaran, Media Pembelajaran. ********** The use of Augmented Reality technology in education has been shown to improve the quality of learning. Learning English for elementary schools has not made much use of Augmented Reality as an instructional media. The general objective of this research is to develop an English learning model for grade 4 elementary schools that utilizes Augmented Reality technology to improve vocabulary and pronunciation mastery. The research approach used is qualitative research with research and development (R&D) methods. In its development, it uses a multimedia-based instructional design (Lee & Owens). The evaluation stage uses the Dick & Carey formative evaluation method, namely review by experts, one-to-one evaluation by learners, small group evaluation, and field trial. The instrumen developed was validated by 3 experts. Validity and reliability tests were carried out on the pretest and posttest questions with the result that the items were valid and reliable. The learning model developed is reviewed by instructional design experts, materials, learning media, and information technology until it is declared fit for use. Furthermore, the learning media was tried out through the evaluation stage, namely one-to-one evaluation by students with the results of the learning model suitable for use, small group evaluation with the results of learning media worthy of use, as well as field trial with the results of the learning model worthy of use. The results of the product quality test showed that the learning model met the validity and practicality requirements. The results of the effectiveness test by comparing the results of the pretest and posttest showed an increase in the mean value of 16% and an increase in the number of respondents with “Completion” criteria as much as 55%. The results of all the tests above conclude that the Augmented Reality-based English learning model can be declared feasible and effective to improve the quality of learning English, especially vocabulary.
