Abstract

Dengan kemajuan teknologi, perangkat pembelajaran dan materi pembelajaran baru dalam bentuk digital mulai bermunculan, seperti halnya video pembelajaran digital. Sejumlah besar video instruksional bahasa Inggris tersedia di internet. Untuk mendukung pembelajaran dan pengembangan keterampilan bahasa siswa secara efektif dan akurat, guru harus cermat dalam menemukan, memilih, dan memanfaatkan bahan pembelajaran terbaik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keselarasan penyampaian instruksi dalam video instruksional teks prosedur untuk siswa kelas IX SMP dengan sebelas fitur model Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) oleh Echevarria, Vogt & Short (2017) dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kualitas video pembelajaran teks prosedur untuk siswa kelas IX SMP memenuhi kriteria yang dikemukakan oleh Morain dan Swarts (2012). Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis konten kualitatif dengan dua puluh video instruksional teks prosedur untuk siswa kelas IX SMP sebagai sumber datanya. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa penyampaian instruksi dua puluh video pembelajaran teks prosedur sudah sesuai dengan sepuluh fitur yang terdapat pada model SIOP, namun implementasinya masih tergolong rendah. Selain itu, temuan tersebut juga mengungkapkan bahwa kualitas enam video dikategorikan sangat baik, tiga video sangat baik, dan satu video baik. *********** With advancements in technology, new learning tools and learning materials in digital began to appear, such as digital instructional videos. A significant number of English instructional videos are available on the internet. To effectively and accurately support the learning and developing students’ language skills, teachers must carefully find, select, and utilize the best learning materials. This study aims to find out the alignment of the instructional delivery of the procedure text instructional videos for ninth grade Junior High School students with the eleven features of the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) model by Echevarria, Vogt & Short (2017) and to know how the quality of procedure text instructional videos for ninth grade Junior High School students meet the criteria proposed by Morain and Swarts (2012). The study employed qualitative content analysis with the twenty procedure text instructional videos for ninth grade Junior High School students as the data source. The research findings reveal that the instructional delivery of twenty procedure text instructional videos are aligned with the ten SIOP features model, but the implementation is still considered low. Moreover, the findings also reveal that the quality of six videos are categorized as excellent, three videos very good, and one video is good.
