Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi popularisasi dalam pembelajaran bahasa pada artikel semi populer. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis Corpus. Pendekatan dilakukan dengan mengadopsi kedekatan Hyland, yaitu Argument. Kerangka utama penelitian ini adalah Strategi Penjelasan dari Calsamiglia. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah 81 artikel dari situs universitas dan institusi Eropa, Amerika Utara, dan Asia yang dikumpulkan pada website ScienceDaily. Setelah menganalisis data, peneliti menemukan argumen dan strategi penulis dalam menulis artikel semi populer tentang pembelajaran bahasa yaitu dengan menggunakan dua jenis Strategi Penjelasan, beberapa istilah yang dijelaskan juga dikategorikan dalam Linguistik, peneliti juga menemukan hubungan antara hal-hal akrab kepada pembaca, dan adapula istilah tanpa Strategi Penjelasan. *********** This study aims to analyze the strategy of popularisation in language learning semipopular articles. This research uses the qualitative method, which employs the Corpus analysis approach. The approach is conducted by adopting Hyland’s Proximity, namely Argument. The primary framework of this study is Calsamiglia’s Explanatory Strategies. The data source of this research is 81 articles from European, North American, and Asian universities and institutions' websites that compiled in the medium, namely the ScienceDaily website. After analyzing the data, the researcher found the writers’ arguments and strategies in writing semipopular articles about language learning are by using two types of Explanatory Strategies; some terms that are being explained are also categorized in Linguistics, the researcher found the association between familiar things to the readers, and there are the terms without Explanatory Strategies.
