Abstract

Orang tua merupakan guru pertama untuk anak-anaknya. Salah satu tugas penting orang tua adalah memberikan pendidikan karakter. Tanggung jawab merupakan karakter yang harus ditanamkan kepada anak. Masih terdapat orang tua yang belum paham tentang karakter tanggung jawab anak dan adanya tanggapan bahwa karakter tanggung akan berkembang seiring dengan bertambah usia anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kondisi yang berkaitan dengan persepsi orang tua terhadap karakter tanggung jawab pada anak usia 5-6 tahun yang tinggal di Kecamatan Makasar, Jakarta Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan instrumen atau kuesioner. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 62 orang tua yang mempunyai anak usia 5-6 tahun dan bersekolah di TK wilayah Kecamatan Makasar, Jakarta Timur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 56% orang tua sudah mempunyai persepsi dalam kategori baik tentang karakter tanggung jawab anak usia 5-6 tahun. Adapun persepi orang tua tentang karakter tanggung jawab pada anak usia 5-6 tahun ditinjau dari beberapa aspek, yaitu aspek pengetahuan dan aspek pengalaman. Aspek pengetahuan orang tua sudah berada dalam kategori baik yaitu sebesar 55% dan aspek pengalaman juga berada dalam kategori baik yaitu sebesar 55%. Dapat dikatakan bahwa orang tua anak yang berada di wilayah Kecamatan Makasar, Jakarta Timur sudah mempunyai pengetahuan dan pengalaman yang baik tentang karakter tanggung jawab anak usia 5-6 tahun. Parents are the first teachers for their children. One of the important tasks of parents is to provide character education. Responsibility is a character that must be instilled in the child. There are still parents who do not understand the character of the child's responsibility and there is a response that the character of responsibility will develop with the age of the child. This study aims to describe conditions related to parents' perception of the character of responsibility in children aged 5-6 years who live in Makasar Subdistrict, East Jakarta. This study uses survey method. Data collection is done by disseminating instruments or questionnaires. The sample of this study amounted to 62 parents who have children aged 5-6 years and attended kindergarten in Makasar Subdistrict, East Jakarta. The results of this study showed that 56% of parents already have a perception in the good category about the character of responsibility of children aged 5-6 years. The parents' understanding of the character of responsibility in children aged 5-6 years is reviewed from several aspects, namely the knowledge aspect and the experience aspect. Aspects of parental knowledge are already in the good category of 55% and the experience aspect is also in the good category of 55%. It can be said that the parents of children who are in the district of Makasar, East Jakarta already have good knowledge and experience about the character of responsibility of children aged 5-6 years.
