Abstract
Penelitian tindakan ini dilakukan dengan latarbelakang belum berhasilnya pembelajaran dalam menulis surat bisnis berbahasa Inggris dan memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis surat bisnis berbahasa Inggris melalui pendekatan Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). Penelitian dilakukan sepanjang semester ganjil dari tanggal 24 September 2019 sampai dengan 08 Januari 2020 pada Mahasiswa semester III Program Studi Pendidikan Ekonomi Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Kuningan (FKIP-UNIKU) tahun akademik 2019-2020 berjumlah 42 mahasiswa. Penelitian Ini menggunakan model Mertler yang memiliki tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, pengembangan, dan refleksi. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari wawancara dan observasi yang kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Sedangkan data kuantitatif diperoleh dari hasil tes prasiklus, tes siklus 1, tes siklus 2, dan tes siklus 3 yang kemudian dianalisis dengan statistik sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peningkatan dari siklus 1 sampai 3. Pada siklus 1 keterampilan menulis surat mencapai 21 orang atau 50% mahasiswa mendapat nilai tuntas. Pada siklus 2 sebanyak 29 orang (69%) mahasiswa mencapai nilai tuntas, dan di siklus 3 sebanyak 39 orang (93%) mahasiswa mencapai nilai tuntas. Kesimpulannya adalah pendekatan pembelajaran Conten and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis surat bisnis berbahasa Inggris mahasiswa serta disarankan menjadi salah satu pendekatan yang perlu diterapkan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis surat bisnis berbahasa Inggris mahasiswa.*************This action research was conducted against the background of unsuccessful learning in English business letter writing and has the aim at improving English business letter writing skills through the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach. The research was conducted throughout the odd semester from September 24, 2019 to January 8, 2020 in the third semester students of the Economic Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Kuningan (FKIP-UNIKU) for the 2019-2020 academic year totaling 42 students. This study uses the Mertler model which has the stages; plan, action, development and reflection. Qualitative data is obtained from interviews and observations which are then analyzed using descriptive qualitative. Meanwhile, quantitative data were obtained from the results of the pre-cycle test, cycle one test, cycle two test and cycle three test which were then analyzed using simple statistics. The results showed an increase from cycle one to three. In cycle one student letter writing skills reached 21 students or 50% of them got complete scores. In cycle two as many as 29 students (69%) achieved complete scores, and in cycle three as many as 39 (93%) students completed it succesfully. The conclusion is that the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) learning approach can improve students' English business letter writing skills and is suggested to be an approach that needs to be applied in improving students' English business letter writing skills.
