Abstract
Meningkatnya demoralisasi anak dan remaja sebagai generasi muda penerus bangsa ini semakin mengkhawatirkan dan tentu saja menjadi keprihatinan oleh berbagai pihak. Banyak perilaku anak dan remaja telah melanggar norma-norma agama, Pancasila, dan budaya seperti: berkurangnya rasa hormat kepada orang tua dan guru, semangat belajar yang menurun, tindak kekerasan dan perkelahian antar pelajar, pengguna dan pengedar narkoba, pornografi dan seks bebas, terorisme, dan lain sebagainya. Segala gejala yang telah terjadi telah menggugah keprihatinan dari banyak kalangan, termasuk SD Don Bosco II – Pulomas, Jakarta Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan implementasi manajemen pendidikan karakter yang diterapkan di SD Don Bosco II – Pulomas, Jakarta Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, pengamatan berpartisipasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisa data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dalam penelitian ini yang menjadi informan kunci adalah kepala sekolah, sedangkan informan adalah beberapa guru SD Don Bosco II – Pulomas, Jakarta Timur. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan manajemen pendidikan karakter di SD Don Bosco II – Pulomas meliputi perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, pengawasan dan evaluasi, telah berjalan dengan baik dan efektif. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan yang berupa proposisi, (1) apabila pendidikan karakter dilaksanakan berdasarkan pada visi dan misi yang jelas, rumusan karakter dasar yang detail, prinsip-prinsip yang kuat dan metode-metode yang tepat, maka dapat berjalan secara efektif dan efisien. (2) bahwa apabila pola pembentukan karakter didasarkan pada pendekatan yang tepat, dengan melibatkan peran serta dan tanggung jawab semua komponen pendidikan di sekolah serta kerjasama dengan orang tua dan masyarakat, maka pendidikan karakter dapat berjalan sinergis dan terpadu sehingga mampu mencapai tujuan dan program pendidikan karakter telah berhasil dilaksanakan. ***************** The increasing demoralization of children and adolescents as the young generation of the nation's successors is increasingly worrying and of course a concern by various parties. Many child and adolescent behaviors have violated religious norms, Pancasila, and culture such as: reduced respect for parents and teachers, decreased enthusiasm for learning, acts of violence and fights between students, drug users and dealers, pornography and free sex, terrorism, and so forth. All of the symptoms that have occurred have aroused anxiety from many groups, including SD Don Bosco II - Pulomas, East Jakarta. This study aims to reveal the management of character education implemented in Don Bosco II Elementary School - Pulomas, East Jakarta. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach; data collection is done by in-depth interview techniques, participatory observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Research informants were school principals, vice principals, Catholic Religious Teachers and Guidance and Counseling Teachers. Research findings indicate that the implementation of character education management in Don Bosco II - Pulomas Elementary School includes planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring, which has been running well and effectively. This study produces conclusions in the form of propositions, (1) if character education is based on a clear vision and mission, detailed basic character formulation, strong principles and appropriate methods, it will run effectively and efficiently. (2) that if the pattern of character formation is based on right approach, involving the participation and responsibility of all components of education in schools involving the roles and collaboration with parents and the community, then character education can run synergistically and integrated so as to achieve the objectives and character education programs that have been successfully implemented.
