Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kemampuan self confidence dan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui penerapan model advance organizer. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimental dengan desain kontrol tes akhir untuk kemampuan self confidence dan pre-test post-test untuk kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematika tinggi. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di SMP 2 Parung dan SMP Negeri 3 Gunung Sindur Kabupaten Bogor pada semester Ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 96 siswa. Hasil Penelitian ini ialah (1) Peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diberi perlakuan dengan model advance organizer lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang diberi perlakuan dengan model konvensional; (2) terdapat interaksi antar model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematika (KAM) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis; (3) terdapat peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada siswa dengan KAM tinggi; (4) Tidak terdapat peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada siswa dengan KAM rendah; (5) self confidence siswa yang diberi perlakuan dengan model advance organizer lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang diberi perlakuan dengan model konvensional; (6) terdapat terdapat interaksi antar model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematika (KAM) terhadap kemampuan self confidence;(7) terdapat perbedaan self confidence pada siswa dengan KAM tinggi; (8) tidak terdapat perbedaan self confidence pada siswa dengan KAM rendah. ********* The study aims to measure the ability of self confidence and improvement of mathematical communication ability through learning by advance organizer learning. This study uses quasi experimental method with final test control design for mathematical self confidence and pre test post test for mathematical communication ability in terma of students’ early math skill. The sample of the research is the students of class VII junior high scool 2 dan 3 in Kabupaten Bogor north region. In odd semester of academic year 2018/2019 as many as 96 students. The result of this research are (1) there is an improvement og mathematical communication ability of student who are treated with advance organizer is better than students who get conventional learning; (2) there is an interaction between learning model and early math ability to improving students mathematical communication ability; (3) there is an improvement of mathematical communication ability in students with high early matheatical ability; (4) there is no improvement of mathematical communication ability in students with low early mathematical ability; (5) self cpnfidence of student who are treated with advance organizer learning is better than students who get conventional learning; (6) there is an interaction between learning model and early math ability to self confidence of students; (7 ) there is different self confidence in students with high early math ability; (8) there is no different self confidence in students with low early math ability.
