Abstract

*********** Humans and other living things are essentially inseparable from the environment. As living beings who have reason and awareness, humans need to consider the relationship between themselves and the environment. By understanding the relationship between oneself and the environment, one can be responsible for the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of knowledge about ecology and intention to act on student citizenship behavior. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 54 Jakarta in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year with a research sample of 80 students. The method used is a survey method through causal and analyzed using path analysis. The result of the calculation of the reliability coefficient of the knowledge about ecology instrument is 0.75, the intention to act is 0.931, and citizen behavior is 0.932, which means that the three instruments can be trusted. This study shows that knowledge of ecology does not have a significant effect on the intention to act or the citizenship behavior of students. Knowledge of ecology also does not indirectly affect citizenship behavior through students' intention to act, so that intention to act cannot be used as a mediator variable between knowledge of ecology and citizenship behavior.
