Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menguji pengaruh independensi, kompetensi, skeptisisme profesional, dan tekanan waktu terhadap kemampuan auditor dalam mendeteksi kecurangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dengan sampel auditor yang bekerja pada Kantor Akuntan Publik (KAP) diwilayah Jakarta Timur yang telah memperoleh izin dari Kementerian Keuangan dan terdaftar dalam situs resmi Pusat Pembinaan Profesi Keuangan, Sekretariat Jenderal Kementerian Keuangan Republik Indonesia per November 2021. Teknik sampling pada penelitian ini menggunakan convenience sampling dengan 52 responden. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan metode analisis regresi linier berganda dan dengan menggunakan SPSS 25. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pada penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) Independensi berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan auditor dalam mendeteksi kecurangan, 2) Kompetensi tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan auditor dalam mendeteksi kecurangan, 3) Skeptisisme profesional memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan auditor dalam mendeteksi kecurangan, 4) Tekanan waktu tidap berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan auditor dalam mendeteksi kecurangan. Kata Kunci: independensi, kompetensi, skeptisisme profesional, tekanan waktu, kemampuan auditor dalam mendeteksi kecurangan. This research aims to examine the effect of independence, competence, professional skepticism, and time pressure to auditor’s ability to detect fraud. This study uses primary data with a sample of auditors working at the Public Accounting Firm (KAP) which located in East Jakarta, and have obtained permission form Ministry of Finance and also listed in the official website of Financial Professional Development Center, Secretariat General Ministry of Finance as of November 2021. The sampling technique in this study used convenience sampling with 52 respondents. Hypothesis testing in this study using multiple regression models using SPSS 25. Based on the results of the analysis in this study, it can be concluded that: 1) Independence has a positive effect on the auditor's ability to detect fraud, 2) Competence has no effect on the auditor's ability to detect fraud, 3) Professional skepticism has a positive effect on the auditor's ability to detect fraud, 4) Time pressure has no effect on the auditor's ability to detect fraud.
