Abstract

Adjectives yang muncul sebanyak 9 (17%) buah stuktur, masing-masing bermakna gramatikal color (warna) sebanyak 6 (10%) buah; bermakna gramatikal size (ukuran) sebanyak 2 (3%) buah; bermakna gramatikal age/physical state (usia/keadaan) sebanyak 1 (2%) buah. Lalu noun muncul sebanyak 6 (11%) buah struktur yang masing-masing bermakna gramatikal classifying (penggolongan) sebanyak 4 (7%) buah; geographic places (letak geografis) sebanyak 1 (2%) buah; dates (tanggal) sebanyak 1 (2%) buah. Participle phrase (verb -ing/-ed) muncul sebanyak 1 (2%) buah struktur, masing-masing bermakna gramatikal thing are going on at the time of speaking (hal yang masih berlangsung) sebanyak 1 (2%) buah. This study aims to determine the interference of noun phrases in the description text of BIPA 1 students at the Indonesian Embassy in Bern. The focus of this research is the structure of English noun phrases contained in the description text of BIPA 1 students at the Indonesian Embassy in Bern, including the main structure consisting of the head, pre-modifiers, and post modifiers. Each English noun phrase structure has different filler categories and grammatical meanings. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques. Of the 30 texts there are FN interference as many as 17 (57%) texts, with 53 sentences, and 57 phrases, found the English FN structure consisting of the head and pre-modifiers. the most dominating structure is the structure of pre-modifiers 54 (95%). In this structure, the most dominating categories are determiners (possessives) which mean 25 (44%) grammatical relationships; The next category that dominates the most is determiners (possessives) which means 12 (21%) grammatical possessions; then the category of determiners (possessives) means 1 (2%) grammatical physical characteristics. The adjectives that appear are 9 (17%) structures, each with a grammatical meaning of 6 (10%) colors; meaningful grammatical size (size) as much as 2 (3%) pieces; means grammatical age/physical state (age/state) as much as 1 (2%) pieces. Then 6 (11%) structure nouns appear, each of which means grammatically classifying as many as 4 (7%) units; 1 (2%) geographic places; dates (date) as many as 1 (2%) pieces. Participle phrases (verb -ing/-ed) appear in 1 (2%) structure, each meaning grammatical things are going on at the time of speaking (things that are still ongoing) as much as 1 (2%). The interference that occurs is caused by the frequency of learning that has only lasted for 1 month. Thus, student B1 still dominates. Interference in these structures arises due to differences between languages. There is a structure whose presence is not found in the research data at all, namely post modifiers. This is still related to the differences between languages. The results of this study can be implied in Indonesian language learning for foreign speakers (BIPA) on the element of competence 6.3. master knowledge of the use of noun phrase structures (DM) and 6.3.1. use the correct noun (DM) (my name, my house) structure.
