Abstract

Abstrak Luas hutan bakau di Indonesia berkurang setiap tahunnya yang mana dapat mengakibatkan berkurangnya jumlah ikan di sekitar pantai, masuknya air laut ke daratan, serta memundurkan garis pantai. Untuk mengurangi dampak tersebut, perlu dilakukan penanaman pohon bakau di sekitar pantai. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan bakau adalah salinitas. Salinitas pada media tanam dapat berubah-ubah karena beberapa faktor, oleh karena itu diperlukan sebuah sistem yang dapat menjaga salinitas media tanam pada rentang tertentu. Pada makalah komprehensif ini, peneliti merancang sistem pengendalian salinitas media tanam dengan menggunakan Arduino dan Internet of Things (IoT). Sensor konduktivitas digunakan untuk membaca salinitas media tanam, pompa DC digunakan untuk mengalirkan air tawar atau air laut untuk mengubah salinitas ke rentang yang diinginkan, serta sensor ultarasonik digunakan untuk memeriksa ketersediaan air pada tangki air tawar dan air laut. Kerja sub-sistem tersebut telah diprogram pada papan Arduino. Modul Wi-Fi beserta teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) digunakan untuk media komunikasi antara sistem dengan pengguna, baik dari sistem ke pengguna maupun dari pengguna ke sistem. Kata Kunci: Pengendalian salinitas, Arduino, Internet of Things ******** The area of mangrove forest in Indonesia decrease each year which can cause the reduction of fishes around the shore, the entry of sea water into the land, and the seatback of the shoreline. To reduce those impact, it is necessary to plant mangrove seedlings around the shore. One of the factors that can affect the growth of mangrove seedling is salinity. The salinity of the growing media can change due to several factors, therefore we need a system that can that can control the salinity of the growing media at certain range. In this comprehensive paper, the researcher designs the system that can control salinity on growing media by using Arduino and Internet of Things (IoT). Conductivity sensor is used to measure the salinity of the growing media, DC pump is used to flow the freshwater or saltwater to change the salinity to certain range, and ultrasonic sensors are used to measure the availability of water on freshwater and saltwater tanks. Those sub-systems work based on what have been programmed on Arduino board. Wi-Fi module and the technology of Internet of Things are used as communicating medium between the system and user, either from system to user or from user to the system.
