Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh penerapan model REACT terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self confidence siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 123 Jakarta pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen. Populasi terjangkau dari penelitian ini adalah empat kelas di SMP Negeri 123 Jakarta (dua kelas yang belajar melalui model REACT dan dua kelas yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional). Setelah dilakukan pengujian, populasi yang digunakan berdistribusi normal, memiliki varians yang sama atau bersifat homogen, dan memiliki kesamaan ratarata. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang belajar melalui model REACT dan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional, 2) terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematis terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, 3) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang belajar melalui model REACT dan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa dengan kemampuan awal matematis tinggi, 4) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang belajar melalui model REACT dan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa dengan kemampuan awal matematis rendah, dan 5) terdapat perbedaan self confidence antara siswa yang belajar melalui model REACT dan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional. This study aims to the influence of the application of REACT model on mathematical communications ability and self confidence of students. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 123 Jakarta in the academic year 2016/2017. The research method used is quasi experiment. The population is affordable from this study is four classes in SMP Negeri 123 Jakarta (two classes who learning through REACT and two classes that received conventional learning). After testing, the population used is normally distributed, has the same or homogeneous variance, and has an average similarity. The result of this research is 1) there is difference of the mathematical communication ability between students who learning through REACT and students who received conventional learning, 2) there is interaction influence between learning model and mathematical early ability to students mathematical communication ability, 3) there is difference of the mathematical communication ability between students who learning through REACT and students who received conventional learning on students with high mathematical early ability, 4) there is no difference of the mathematical communication ability between students who learning through REACT and students who received conventional learning on students with low mathematical early ability, and 5) there is difference of self confidence between students who learning through REACT and students who received conventional learning.
