Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan di PAUD Kelurahan Kreo Selatan, Tangerang selama satu bulan terhitung dari bulan Mei sampai Juni 2017. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kebiasaan orang tua membacakan cerita (family literacy) dengan kesiapan membaca anak usia 4-5 tahun di PAUD Kreo Selatan, Tangerang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah PAUD Kelurahan Kreo Selatan, Tangerang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling yang kemudian disusul simple random sampling sebanyak 30 anak. Koefisien korelasi product moment menghasilkan r=0.523 dan signifikansi koefisien korelasi thitung (3.246) > ttabel (2.048), sehingga koefisien korelasi r=0.523 adalah positif dan signifikan. Koefisien determinasi menghasilkan nilai sebesar 0.274 atau 27.4%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa varabel kebiasaan orang tua membacakan cerita (family literacy) berkontribusi sebanyak 27.4% kesiapan membaca anak, sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. The research was conducted in Early Childhood Education Program in South Kreo Village, Tangerang for one month starting from May to June 2017. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship between the parents’ habit of family literacy with reading readiness of children aged 4-5 years old in Early Childhood Education Program in South Kreo Village, Tangerang. The method used is correlational method. The population in this research is Early Childhood Education Program students in South Kreo Village, Tangerang. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling followed by simple random sampling of 30 students and parents. The coefficient of product moment correlation produces r = 0.523 and significance of tcount correlation coefficient (3.246)> ttable (2.048), so the correlation coefficient r = 0.523 is positive and significant. The coefficient of determination yields a value of 0.274 or 27.4%. This shows that the varabel habits of parents reading stories (family literacy) contribute as much as 27.4% readiness to read children, the rest influenced by other factors.
