Abstract

Analisis kelompok berguna untuk mengelompokkan objek berdasarkan ukuran kemiripan, dimana konsep dasar dari analisis kelompok adalah pengukuran jarak dan kesamaan. Pengelompokan objek di dalam analisis kelompok dapat dilakukan dengan metode bottom-up, top-down, dan Hybrid Mutual Clustering. Pengelompokan objek dengan bottom-up menggunakan metode pengelompokan yang dimulai dari kelompok kecil menjadi kelompok yang lebih besar, pengelompokan objek dengan top-down menggunakan metode sebaliknya yaitu pengelompokan dengan memecah kelompok besar menjadi kelompok yang lebih kecil. Metode Hybrid Mutual Clustering baru diperkenalkan pada tahun 2006 oleh Hugh Chipman dan Robert Tibshirani, dimana metode ini mengkombinasikan kelebihan metode bottom-up dan top-down. Metode Hybrid Mutual Clustering yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini adalah metode pengelompokan hybrid menggunakan jarak Square Euclidean sebagai metode perhitungan jarak objek satu ke objek lainnya. Pemilihan kelompok terbaik dipilih berdasarkan nilai proporsi terbesar pada variabel dan perbedaan karakteristik antar variabel. Pada skripsi ini proporsi terbesar didapat dari variabel umur di bawah 14 tahun di kota Nusa Tenggara Barat dan Papua. Cluster analysis is use to agglomerate objects based on similarity measure, which the based concept of cluster analysis is distance and similarity measuring. Objects agglomeration inside the analysis cluster can be done with bottom-up method, top-down method, and Hybrid Mutual Clustering. Objects agglomeration with bottom-up using clustering method which start from a little cluster to a bigger cluster, objects agglomeration with top-down using the opposite method which start from breaking a big cluster to a smaller cluster. Hybrid Mutual Clustering method introduced on 2006 by Hugh Chipman and Robert Tibshirani, this method is combining the advantages of bottom-up and top-down method. Hybrid Mutual Clustering method in this thesis is using Square Euclidean distance as a method of calculation the distance of an object to other objects. Best cluster is chosen by proportion value on variable and characteristic differences between variable. In this thesis the biggest proportion gets from age under 14 variable at Nusa Tenggara Barat and Papua city.
