Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X pada materi reaksi reduksi oksidasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester Genap tahun ajaran 2016/2017 di SMA Negeri 113 Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah True Experiment dengan desain Posttest Only Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling sehingga didapatkan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) sedangkan kelas kontrol menerapkan pembelajaran 5M. Model pembelajaran Project Based Learning terdiri dari 6 tahap, yakni penentuan proyek, membuat desain proyek, menyusun penjadwalan, memonitor kemajuan proyek, presentasi dan penilaian hasil, dan evaluasi pengalaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen (71,22) lebih besar daripada kelas kontrol (51,00). Berdasarkan perhitungan diperoleh nilai thitung = 6,29 dan ttabel = 1,67 pada taraf signifikasi 5%. Hasil uji t diperoleh nilai thitung > ttabel, sehingga H0 ditolak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan hasil uji t dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi reaksi redoks. This research aimed to determine the effect of Project Based Learning (PjBL) model to the critical thinking skills of the tenth grade students on redox reaction. This research was conducted on the second semester of 2016/2017 academic year in SMA Negeri 113 Jakarta. The method used in this research was True Experiment method and used a Posttest Only Control Group Design. The sample of this research was taken by using cluster random sampling technique to obtain two classes, an experimental class which applied the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model and a control class which applied the 5M learning model. The Project Based Learning model consisted of 6 stages, project planning, making the project design, scheduling, progress monitoring, presentation and result assessment, and experience evaluation. The results showed that the average learning outcomes of the experimental class (71.22) was larger than the control class (51.00). Based on the calculation of tcount = 6.29 and ttable = 1.67 at 5% of significance level. The result of t test was t count> ttable, so H0 was rejected. Based on the research and t test results, it can be concluded that Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model had a positive effect to student’s critical thinking skills on redox reaction.
