Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry terhadap prestasi belajar kimia dan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi reaksi redoks untuk siswa di kelas X IPA SMAN 53 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen semu, yang dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah posttest prestasi belajar kimia yang diperoleh dari pengerjaan soal pilihan ganda dan lembar penilaian keterampilan proses sains. Prestasi belajar siswa dalam mengerjakan posttest menunjukkan perbedaan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol (thitung = 6,017; ttabel = 1,668 sehingga thitung > ttabel). Sejalan dengan hal tersebut, hasil penilaian keterampilan proses sains yang terbagi ke dalam beberapa aspek menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas eksperimen memiliki kategori sangat baik dan baik, sedangkan siswa kelas kontrol memiliki kategori baik dan cukup. Berdasarkan skor posttest dan nilai keterampilan proses sains dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry mampu meningkatkan prestasi belajar kimia dan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi reaksi redoks. This study aims to obtain the information about the effect of the application of inquiry learning to students’ achievement of chemistry learning and students science process skill in redox reaction material. This research was conducted by using quasi-experimental research design at SMAN 53 Jakarta in the even semester of academic year 2016/2017. The instrument used in this research is the posttest of chemistry learning achievement in the form of multiple choice questions and the scores of students' science process skill assessment. The results showed that there was a difference of chemistry learning achievement in the experimental class and control class (tcount = 6,017; ttable = 1,668; therefore tcount > ttable). Along with the result, students’ science process skill assessment results which were divided in several aspects showed that the experimental class students were included in the 'very good' and 'good' category, while the control class students were included in the 'good' and 'sufficient' category. Based on the posttest and the students’ science process skill assessment score, it can be concluded that the application of inquiry learning increases students’ achievement of chemistry learning and students science process skills on redox reaction material.
