Abstract

Berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu aspek yang penting dimiliki oleh mahasiswa karena dapat menambah pengetahuan dan meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa. Salah satu hal yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa adalah keikutsertaan dalam kelompok studi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keikutsertaan dalam kelompok studi bidang kelautan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada permasalahan kelautan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Universitas Negeri Jakarta pada bulan Desember 2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Ex Post Facto. Data skor kemampuan berpikir kritis diambil dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Pengujian hipotesis statistik dilakukan dengan uji t pada taraf signifikansi α=0,05. Dari hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh keikutsertaan dalam kelompok studi bidang kelautan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada permasalahan kelautan. Critical thinking is one of aspect that is important to the students because it can increase the knowledge and improve student skill. One of things that increase critical thinking is membership in marine study community. This study aims to determine the effect of membership in marine study community against critical thinking ability of the students on marine issues. This research was conducted at State University of Jakarta in December 2016. The research method used is Ex Post Facto. Data score of critical thinking is taken by using critical thinking ability test. Testing of statistical hypothesis done with t test at significance level α = 0,05. From the hypothesis test results obtained significance value of 0.001 is smaller than 0.05. The results showed that there is the effect of membership in marine study community against critical thinking ability of the students on marine issues.
