Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan soft skills siswa melalui penerapan pembelajaran asam basa berbasis Socio Critical and Problem Oriented dengan metode think pair square. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 42 Jakarta pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI MIA 3 sebanyak 36 siswa. Isu-isu yang diangkat melalui artikel yaitu infused water, kangen water, vitamin c 1000mg dan bahaya makanan atau minuman panas ditiup. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan paradigma interpretivism. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif oleh Creswell, Pengecekan keabsahan yang digunakan adalah kepercayaan dengan kriteria prolonged engagement, progressive subjectivity, dan member checking. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Socio Critical and Problem Oriented dengan metode think pair square (TPSq) yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran asam basa dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa dan peran aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Peranan guru sebagai fasilitator dan motivator juga dirasakan oleh siswa selama pembelajaran. Implikasi yang muncul yaitu dapat mengembangkan soft skills siswa berupa kerjasama, empati komunikasi, berpikir kritis, refleksi isu-isu sosial, percaya diri, kemampuan komunikasi siswa, kreativitas dan antusias. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran asam basa berbasis Socio Critical and Problem Oriented dengan metode think pair square(TPSq) dapat mengembangkan soft skills siswa dan dapat dijadikan sebagai inovasi pembelajaran kimia. This research aims to develop the soft skills of students through acid-base learning based on Socio Critical and Problem Oriented with think pair square method. This research was conducted in XI MIA 3 SMAN 42 Jakarta students in the 2nd semester of academic year 2016/2017. Issues discussed through articles are infused water, kangen water, vitamin c 1000mg and the danger of hot food or beverages blown. The research method used is qualitative method with interpretivism paradigm. Data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis by Creswell, checking the validity used is trusthworthiness with criteria of prolonged engagement, progressive subjectivity, and member checking. The results showed that the study of acid base based on Socio Critical and Problem Oriented with the method of think pair square (TPSq) can improve student motivation and the active role of students in the learning process. The role of the teacher as a facilitator and motivator is also felt by the students during the lesson. The implications which emerging are student's soft skills in the form of cooperation, empathy communication, critical thinking, reflection on social issues, confidence, student communication skills, creativity and enthusiasm. It can be concluded that the Learning Appearance Acid-base based on Socio-Critical and Problem Oriented with the think pair square (TPSq) method can develop soft skills of students and can be used as an innovative learning of chemistry.
