Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai persepsi calon konselor mengenai kompetensi konseling multikultural pada konseli dengan orientasi seksual minoritas di universitas se-DKI Jakarta. Populasi penelitian ini adalah calon konselor di seluruh universitas di DKI Jakarta dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 151 calon konselor dari empat universitas di DKI Jakarta. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian survey yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran persepsi calon konselor mengenai kompetensi konseling multikultural pada konseli dengan orientasi seksual minoritas. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner/angket yang terdiri dari 86 butir penyataan berdasarkan teori kompetensi konseling multikultural pada orientasi seksual yang dikembangkan oleh Barry & Kim (2010). Uji validitas pada instrumen ini menggunakan Ms.Excel dan hasil uji reliabilitas didapat sebesar 0.951 yang berarti instrumen ini memiliki reliabilitas sangat tinggi dan dapat dipercaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 37.75% calon konselor memiliki persepsi sangat negatif dan sebanyak 33.77% calon konselor memiliki persepsi yang negatif. Hal ini berarti bahwa calon konselor di DKI Jakarta sebanyak 71.52% memiliki persepsi dengan kecenderungan negatif mengenai mengenai kompetensi konseling multikulturnya pada konseli dengan orientasi seksual minoritas (Lesbian, Gay, dan Biseksual). Persepsi calon konselor di DKI Jakarta yang negatif menujukkan bahwa calon konselor menilai dirinya tidak kompeten untuk bekerja dengan orientasi seksual minoritas (Lesbian, Gay, dan Biseksual). Hal ini berarti perlu adanya pengembangan lebih lanjut agar calon konselor memiliki perspesi yang positif pada kompetensi konseling multikulturalnya sehingga pemberian bantuan pada konseli orientasi seksual minoritas (Lesbian, Gay, dan Biseksual) bisa semakin optimal. This survey research aimed to obtain information on perception of counselor trainees on multicultural counseling competencies with sexual orientation minority clients at universities in DKI Jakarta. The population of this research was counselor trainees at all universities in DKI Jakarta and the sample in this research was 151 counselor trainees from four universities in DKI Jakarta. The sampling technique used in this research was proportional random sampling technique. The research method used was a survey research. Data collection tool used was questionnaire that consists of 86 items based on the theory of multicultural counseling competencies on sexual orientation developed by Barry & Kim (2010). The validity test of the instrument used Ms.Excel and reliability score of the instrument was 0.951 which means that this instrument has a very high reliability and trustworthy. The results showed that 37.75% of counselor trainees have a very negative perception and 33.77% counselor trainees have a negative perception. This means that as many as 71.52% counselor trainees in DKI Jakarta have a tendency to a negative perception on multicultural counseling competencies with sexual orientation minority (Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual) clients. A negative perception of counselor trainees in DKI Jakarta showed that the counselor trainees considered him/herself incompetent to work with sexual orientation minority (Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual) clients. This means that further development is needed to make counselor trainees have a positive perception on multicultural counseling competencies so the help service to sexual orientation minority (Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual) clients can be more optimal.
