Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Brain Based Learning terhadap Hasil Belajar Kimia pada Materi Reaksi Reduksi dan Oksidasi. Penelitian dilakukan pada Desember 2015 - Juni 2016, sedangkan pengambilan data dan observasi dilakukan pada tanggal 13 Januari-10 Februari 2016 di SMA N 22 Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experiment dengan desain Posttest Only Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sehingga didapatkan dua kelas yaitu kelas X MIA 2 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas X MIA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen diberikan perlakuan berupa model pembelajaran Brain Based Learning sedangkan kelompok kontrol berupa model pembelajaran 5M. Model Pembelajaran Brain Based Learning terdiri dari 7 sintaks, yaitu pra-pemaparan, persiapan, inisiasi dan akuisisi, elaborasi, inkubasi dan memasukkan memori, verivikasi dan pengecekan keyakinan serta perayaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar kelompok eksperimen lebih besar dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar kelompok kontrol. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji statistik diperoleh nilai thitung = 3,136 dan ttabel = 1.671 dengan dk= 64. Nilai thitung lebih besar dari ttabel, sehingga H0 ditolak, H1 diterima pada taraf signifikansi 5%, disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Brain Based Learning memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar kimia pada materi Reaksi Reduksi dan Oksidasi. This research was aimed to know the effect Brain Based Learning model towards chemistry student’s learning outcome of Reduction and Oxidation Reaction subject. The Research conducted from December 2015 – Juni 2016, meanwhile in collecting data and observation conducted from 13 January 2016 – 10 February 2016 at SMA Negeri 22 Jakarta. This research is quasi experiment with design Posttest Only Control Group Design. The sample of this research was class of X MIA 2 as experiment group and class of X MIA 1 as control group, which were choosen by purposive sampling technic. Experiment group was learnt by Brain Based Learning model and control group was learnt by 5M model. Brain Based Learning model consists of seven syntaxes, there is pra-presentation, preparations, inisiation and acquisition, incubation and incorporating a memory, verivication and checking of conviction, as well as celebration. The study found that the learning outcome in experiment group was higher than learning outcomes in control group. Based on the results of t test analysis was obtained tvalue=3,136 and ttable=1,671 on dk=64. Tvalue is higher than ttable, so Ho was rejected, H1 was accepted at the 5% significance level. This research concluded that there was a significant positive impact on the learning using Brain Based Learning model towards chemistry student’s learning outcome of reduction and oxidation reaction subject.
