Abstract

Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data empiris tentang pengaruh Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas V SD. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SDN Utan Kayu Utara 01, Kecamatan Matraman Jakarta Timur. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN Utan Kayu Utara 01, Kecamatan Matraman Jakarta Timur. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen, dengan desain Pretest Posttest Only Control Design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes tertulis bentuk uraian. Instrumen tersebut diuji sebagai persyaratan analisis dengan pengujian normalitas dan homogenitas yang selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, diperoleh thitung sebesar 3,01, sedangkan ttabel pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05 sebesar 1,67. Hasil pengujian hipotesis tersebut menunjukkan thitung lebih dari ttabel (3,01 > 1,67), artinya hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis kerja (H1) diterima. Hal ini dapat dinyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas V SD. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa Realistic Mathematics Education dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu pendekatan dalam pembelajaran matematika yang dapat mengembangkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas V SD. The purpose of this experiment researched was to obtained the empiric data about effect of Realistic Mathematics Education on mathematic problem solving ability of 5th grade students primary school. The researched was held at Utan Kayu 01 Primary School, Matraman distric , East Jakarta. The sample of this researched was 5th grade students of Utan Kayu 01 Primary School. The sampling methode technique was simple random sampling. The methode that used was experiment methode with pretest postest only control design. Data were collected using essay test instrument. This instrument was examinated as analitical requirement with normal and homogeneity which after that getting analized by t-test. The result of the count, tcount value was 3,01, while ttable value at significantion α = 0,05 was 1,67. The result of hypotheses test shows that tcount more than ttable (3,01>1,67), that means zero hypotheses (H0) was rejected and work hypotheses (H1) was accepted. It can be stated that there is positive influence of Realistic Mathematics Education on mathematic problem solving ability of 5th grade students primary school. The result conclution shows that Realistic Mathematics Eduation can be used as one of the mathematical education approach that will developed the mathematic problem solving ability of 5th grade students primary school.
