Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat perbedaan ketahanan kayu sengon terhadap rayap tanah yang dipres dari arah radial sebanyak 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% dari ketebalan awal. Ukuran sampel uji 1cm x 2cm x 2cm mengacu pada JIS K 1571 (2004). Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Rekayasa dan Modifikasi Biomaterial, Puslit Biomaterial Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) yang terletak di Jalan Raya Bogor Km. 46, Cibinong, Bogor. Penelitian dilaksanakan antara bulan Mei 2015 hingga Juli 2015 dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pemadatan dengan menggunakan metode dipress dengan target 20%, 30%, 40% dan 50% dari ketebalan awal. Pengujian ketahanan kayu sengon diuji dengan menggunakan metode pengujian JIS K 1571 (2004). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kayu yang dipres sebanyak 20% - 50% memiliki kelas awet I-III, dengan nilai kehilangan berat terendah adalah kayu yang dipres sebanyak 50% yaitu 3,26%. Maka kayu yang memiliki nilai ketahanan terhadap rayap paling optimum adalah kayu yang dipress sebanyak 50%. *The purpose of this research is to look at the effect of different resistance of sengon wood pressed against soil termites from the radial direction as much as 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% of the initial thickness. The size of sample test is 1cm x 2cm x 2cm refer to JIS K 1571 (2004). Research conducted at the Laboratory of Engineering and Modification of Biomaterials, Biomaterials Research Center Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), located at Jalan Raya Bogor Km. 46, Cibinong. The research was conducted between the months of May 2015 to July 2015 by using the experimental method. This study uses compaction method using pressed with a target of 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% of the initial thickness. Testing resistance of sengon wood were tested by JIS K 1571 (2004) test methods. The results showed that pressed wood as much as 20% - 50% are burdened have a quality resistance class I-III, with the lowest value of the weight loss is pressed wood as much as 50% = 3,26%. Then wood has the most optimum resistance value against soil termites is pressed wood as much as 50%.
