Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui ungkapan idiomatis yang ditemukan dalam bahasa Inggris dari novel China Rich Girlfriend karya Kevin Kwan dan menganalisis berdasarkan kategori dan karakteristik ekspresi idiomatik yang diterapkan dalam bahasa Inggris dari novel China Rich Girlfriend. Saya menggunakan teori chaer dan makkai untuk menganalisis idiomatik dalam novel tersebut. Teori ini sesuai dengan penelitian yang dilakukan. Sumber datanya adalah novel itu sendiri, dengan judul China Rich Girlfriend yang ditulis oleh Kevin Kwan. Dalam tesis ini menggunakan Edisi Pertama, tahun 2015, yang diterbitkan di Amerika Serikat oleh Doubleday. Hasil ini menununjukkan terdapat tujuh puluh empat encoding idiom, dua puluh dua decoding idiom, sebelas idiom murni dan empat semi idiom. The purpose of this study was to find out the idiomatic expressions found in English from Kevin Kwan's Rich Girlfriend Chinese Novel and to analyze based on the categories and characteristics of idiomatic expressions applied in English from Kevin Kwan's Rich Girlfriend Chinese Novel. I use chaer and makkai theory to analyze the idiomatic in the novel. This theory is in accordance with the research conducted. The data source is the novel itself, with the title China Rich Girlfriend written by Kevin Kwan. This thesis uses the First Edition, 2015, which was published in the United States by Doubleday. These results show that there are seventy-four encoding idioms, twenty-two decoding idioms, eleven pure idioms and four semi-idioms.
