Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan dan implikasi pendekatan dilemmas stories dalam pembelajaran kimia pada materi kimia organik dengan menggunakan metode Numbered Heads Together (NHT). penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 2 Bekasi dari bulan Januari sampai Februari 2015. Penelitian ini berfokus kepada (i) penerapan pendekatan dilemmas stories dalam pembelajaran kimia organik dan (ii) implikasi pendekatan dilemmas stories yang diterapkan pada materi Kimia Organik dengan metode Numbered Heads Together khususnya terhadap perkembangan soft skills siswa. Cerita dilema yang digunakan yaitu formalin, minuman beralkohol, parasetamol, dan cerita dilema butter dan margarin. Pada cerita dilema formalin dan minuman beralkohol cerita dilema dibacakan oleh perwakilan siswa masing-masing kelompok. Sedangkan untuk cerita dilema parasetamol dan butter dan margarin dibacakan oleh guru. Metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan Reflektif jurnal serta Constructivist Chemistry Values Learning Environment Survey (CCVLES). Peneliti menginvestigasi perkembangan soft skills siswa yang penting untuk masa depan mereka dalam bermasyarakat, seperti kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam suatu kelompok, empati dalam berkomunikasi, berpikir kritis khususnya dalam memecahkan suatu masalah yang nyata, dan membuat keputusan. Implikasi yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini antara lain seperti motivasi khususnya kelas XII yang termotivasi untuk melanjutkan pendidikan di tingkat Universitas dan meraih cita-cita mereka, sikap religius, kemampuan berargumentasi, rasa percaya diri, bertanggung jawab, dan berpikir kreatif yang meningkat ketika pembelajaran Kimia Organik dengan pendekatan dilemmas stories. Penerapan pendekatan dilemmas Stories perlu dilakukan beberapa persiapan diantaranya: pelatihan bagi guru, siswa, efisiensi waktu penerapan dalam pembelajaran, dan materi yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Dengan demikian pendekatan dilemmas stories dengan metode Numbered Heads Together pada Kimia Organik dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan ajar di sekolah menengah atas pada kelas XII semester 2. This research aims to know dilemmas stories application and implication in organic chemistry with Numbered Heads Together Method. This research conducted at secondary school in Bekasi for 2 months from January until February 2015. This research focused on (i)The application of dilemmas stories approach in Organic chemistry learning and (ii) The implication of dilemmas stories approach which was applicated on Organic chemistry learning with Numbered Heads Together method, in particular their soft skills development. The researcher used the dilemmas stories of formalin, alcohol drinks, parasetamol drugs, and dilemmas stories of butter and margarin. Formalin and alcohol drinks stories were read by students in each team. On the other hand, the parasetamol and butter and margarin stories were read by teacher. Methods for generating data included: interviews, reflective journals, classroom observations, and Chemistry Values Learning Environment Survey CCVLES,. Through this methods, the researcher investigated about the important of students soft skills development for their future in society, such as communication skills on group discussion, Emphatic Communications, critical thinking especially to solved the real problem, and decision making. Implication was founded by this research like motivation, especially for the 12th grade students who want to continue their study in university and achieve their dreams, religious attitude, ability to give arguments, confidence, creative thinking, and responsibility attitude. These were all improved while learning with dilemmas stories approach. This research also found that to apply dilemmas stories approach, there is a need for preparation, such as: training for teacher, students, timetabling before learning, and the materials that are used in the learning process. In conclusion, dilemmas stories approach with Numbered Heads Together method for Organic Chemistry can be used in Senior high School for the 12th grade
