Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu tipe balikan yang diberikan oleh guru selama microteaching dan menginvestigasi efek dari balikan yang diberikan oleh guru dalam microteaching terhadap peningkatan kemampuan mengajar siswa. Fokus utama pada penelitian ini adalah balikan yang diberikan guru selama microteaching. Data penelitian ini diambil pada bulan Maret sampai Juni 2015. Metode yang digunakan adalah Studi Kasus Deskriptif dengan observasi kelas, tes, dan wawancara sebagai instrumennya. Peserta dalam penelitian ini adalah 2 orang dosen dan siswa di kelas 12 DBR. Observasi digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan balikan yang diberikan oleh dosen terhadap microteaching siswa. Tes digunakan untuk melihat sejauh apa perkembangan teknik mengajar siswa setelah mendapatkan balikan yang diukur melalui indikator untuk tiap kemampuan. Wawancara digunakan untuk memperkaya dan mendukung data yang diperoleh. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa guru A kebanyakan memberikan balikan dengan tipe FP (41%) dan elicitation (39%). Dan guru B memberikan balikan dengan tipe FT (53%) dan explicit correction (75%). Dan hasil menunjukan bahwa balikan yang diberikan oleh dosen memiliki efek yang berbeda untuk satu grup dan grup lainnya. Peningkatan kemampuan mengajar grup paling banyak terlihat pada kemampuan mengajar set induction, explaining, questioning, dan smooth transition. Untuk kemampuan mengajar lainnya, peningkatannya tidak sebaik kemampuan mengajar yang telah disebutkan tersebut berdasarkan jumlah grup yang mampu memenuhi indikator dari kemampuan tersebut setelah mendapatkan balikan. This study aimed at finding out the types of feedback given by the teachers in microteaching and investigating the effect of teachers’ feedback in microteaching in improving the students’ teaching skill. The main focus of this study was on feedback used by the teacher. The data of this study was collected on March to June 2015. The method used in this study is a descriptive case study with classroom observation, test, and interview as its instruments. The participants of this study were two teachers and the students in the 12 DBR class. The classroom observation was used to describe in the real context the teachers’ feedback in students’ microteaching. The test was used to give information about how far the teachers’ feedback give effect for the improvement of students’ teaching skill which represent in fulfilment of indicators for each skill. And, the interview was used to support the data gathered. The findings showed that the teachers A mostly gave feedback about progression on the task (41%) and elicitation (39%). And the teacher B mostly gave feedback about the task (53%) and explicit correction (75%). And it was also proven that the effect of the feedback in improving students’ teaching is different for one group to another. The groups had much improved in the four skill, those were set induction skill, explaining skill, questioning skill, and smooth transition skill. For the other skill, the improvement as not strong as to the previous skill that had mentioned before regarding to the amount of the groups who were able to fulfil another indicator for that skill after receiving feedback.
