Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari jenis strategi penerjemahan di dalam buku Pokok�Pokok Kebijakan Pemerintah Dalam Kumpulan Pidato Presiden Republik Indonesia Tahun 2011. Penulis menggunakan teori strategi penerjemahan Peter Newmark dalam mencari jenis-jenis strategi penerjemahan yang digunakan di buku ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, deskriptif analitis, karena penelitian ini akan menganalisis jenis penerjemahan yang digunakan di buku ini. Melalui penelitian ini, dapat diketahui bahwa ada sembilan strategi penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam buku kumpulan kebijakan umum SBY. Sembilan strategi yang digunakan adalah literal (52.8%), shift atau transposition (13.2%), transference (11.2%), through-translation (8,4%), naturalization (6%), reduction dan expansion (4.4%) descriptive equivalent (2.4%), modulation (1.2%) dan recognized translation (0.4%). Semoga hasil penelitian ini dapat menambah pengetahuan para mahasiswa dan mahasiswi Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris yang tertarik dalam meneliti strategi penerjemahan Peter Newmark terkhusus dalam meneliti penerjemahan buku kumpulan kebijakan-kebijakan umum. This study aims to find the type of translation strategies in the book entitled “The Main Policies of the Government in a Collection of Speeches of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2011”. The writer used the theory of Peter Newmark's translation strategy in finding the types of translation strategies used on SBY’s summary of main policies book. This study used qualitative research methods, descriptive analytical study, because this study analyzed the types of translations used in this book. Through this research, the research reveal that there are nine translation strategies used in this summary of main policies book. Those nine translation strategies are literal (52.8%), shift or transposition (13.2%), transference (11.2%), through-translation (8,4%), naturalization (6%), reduction and expansion (4.4%) descriptive equivalent (2.4%), modulation (1.2%) and recognized translation (0.4%). Hopefully the results of this study can add to the knowledge of students and student Department of English Language and Literature interested in researching Peter Newmark especially its translation strategy in researching the translation of a book of general policies.
