Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti aspek kognitif dan dimensi pengetahuan dalam soal Ujian Nasional Bahasa Inggris SMP tahun 2016. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan studi kasus karena dokumen soal Ujian Nasional akan diteliti berdasarkan Revisi dari Bloom Taksonomi dan Kompetensi Dasar. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan faktual mengingat terdapat 20 soal yang bertanya tentang informasi spesifik dalam teks, pengetahuan faktual memahami terdapat 16 soal yang bertanya tentang persamaan kata, pengetahuan konseptual memahami terdapat 10 soal yang bertanya tentang ide utama sebuah paragraph atau teks dan pengetahuan konseptual menerapkan terdapat 4 soal yang bmeminta siswa untuk mengurutkan beberapa kata menjadi kalimat dan beberapa kalimat menjadi paragraf. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa soal UN Bahasa Inggris mengukur tingkat berpikir rendah dengan sejumlah pertanyaan yaitu informasi detil, persamaan kata, tema sebuah teks atau paragraf, mengisi titik-titik dan menyusun kata dan kalimat. Dimensi pengetahuan yang dihadirkan dalam teks yaitu pengetahuan faktual dan konseptual sedangkan pengetahuan prosedural dan metakognitif tidak dihadirkan dalam teks. This research was aimed to investigate the cognitive levels and knowledge dimensions presented in English UN for Junior High School year 2016. This research used case study as the documents of English National Examination was investigated based on the Revised Bloom Taxonomy and the basic competencies. The result showed that there are 20 questions concern with factual remember as the questions ask about detailed information in the texts. There are 16 questions concern with factual understand as the questions ask about similar meaning of a word and choose the correct word to complete the sentences. There are 10 questions belong to conceptual understand as the questions ask about general theme of paragraph and text. There are 4 questions belong to conceptual apply as the questions ask students to rearrange words into sentences and to rearrange sentences into a text. In conclusion, English National Examination measured lower-order thinking levels in terms of its cognitive knowledge as the questions asked about detailed information, similar meaning of a word, theme of the text or paragraph, fill in the blank and restructure words and paragraphs. The knowledge dimensions presented in the text were conceptual and factual while procedural and metacognitive knowledge were not presented.
