Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a high school physics instrument of Newton’s Laws and its application which is made with an automatic timer sensor that has been programmed. The instrument is designed to visualize internal image of the nature of inertia, to determine the relationship between mass and acceleration, to find out relationship between force and acceleration, to find out relationship between angular and the acceleration of the object that is sliding to the top through the inclined plane, and to determine the value of frictional kinetic coefficient. The used method in this research is the method of research and development. This research was done in the Physics Laboratory of State University of Jakarta and trialed in SMAN 67 Jakarta. The result of the validation towards two physics learning expert was 85,75% and two materials physics expert was 87.50% which was interpreted as excellent. Overall average score obtained from filling the questionnaire by two physics teachers was 98,70%, and the result of the questionnaire responses of students to the instrument was 83,42% which was interpreted as excellent. Besides, the effectiveness of the instrument of Newton's Law was also tested as learning media in the classroom. After doing calculation with the gain test, the increase in outcomes, before and after learning with the instrument were 0.69 with a sufficient interpretation. The conclusion of this reseach is the high school physics instrument of Newton's Laws and its applications have been fit to use as a teaching of physics media in high school and be able to complete the achievement of basic competence, especially on the matter of the first and the second law of Newton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat peraga fisika SMA materi hukum Newton dan aplikasinya dibuat dengan sensor penghitung waktu otomatis yang telah diprogram. Alat ini dirancang untuk memvisualisasikan gambaran sifat kelembaman, mengetahui hubungan massa dengan percepatan benda, hubungan gaya dengan percepatan benda, hubungan sudut dengan percepatan benda yang meluncur naik melalui bidang miring, dan nilai koefisien gesek kinetik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisika Universitas Negeri Jakarta dan uji coba di SMAN 67 Jakarta. Hasil validasi terhadap 2 ahli pembelajaran fisika sebesar 85,75% dan 2 ahli materi fisika sebesar 87,50% yang diinterpretasikan sangat baik. Skor rata-rata keseluruhan yang didapat dari pengisian kuisioner oleh 2 guru fisika sebesar 98,70% dan hasil kuisioner tanggapan siswa terhadap alat peraga yang telah dibuat sebesar 83,42% yang diinterpretasikan sangat baik. Selain itu, juga dilakukan uji keefektifan alat peraga hukum Newton sebagai media pembelajaran di kelas. Setelah dilakukan perhitungan dengan uji gain, besarnya peningkatan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan alat peraga yaitu sebesar 0,69 dengan interpretasi sedang. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah alat peraga fisika SMA materi hukum Newton dan aplikasinya layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran fisika di SMA dan dapat menuntaskan pencapaian kompetensi dasar khususnya pada materi hukum pertama dan kedua Newton.
