Abstract

This study is an evaluative study with reference to the evaluation model CIPPO with a focus on the evaluation of the context, input, process, product, and outcome. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of on the job training (Prakerin) SMK expertise program Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) in Garut. The research was conducted in 2015 in three vocational high schools in Garut, SMK 2, SMK 8, and SMK 10. Subjects in the study include student, teacher, instructor of industry, head master/vice principal fields of industrial relations, Vice principal curriculum affairs, head of workshop, and organizers of Prakerin. Data collected through observation, interviews, documentation analysis, and questionnaires. Data analysis technique used to interprate the descriptive data analysis of data from every aspect that was evaluated, then compared with predefined criteria. The results of the evaluation show that: 1) Aspects in the context, especially regarding the legality of prakerin considered quite good, the school characteristics quite good, and the amount of industry has been fulfilled and prakerin objectives are clear. 2) Aspect in the input, namely the curriculum used KTSP 2009 edition, teacher and instructor of industry suitably qualified, ever getting the automotive training, and experienced to guide the participants, The participants have physical and mental readiness, but less than optimalize in the mastery learning competences, facilities and infrastructure in the school is good, but need to be fitted with equipment for support teaching and learning activities according to curriculum, facilities and infrastructure in the industry has been very adequate. 3) Aspect in the process, the committee has undertaken planning well, including provisioning, monitoring and providing encouragement and motivation to participants. 4) Aspect of the product, needs to be raised initiative of participants to do jobs from instructors of industries, cooperative relationships between the participants has been formed, and attendance has reached 90%. 5) Aspect in the outcome, 100% of participants passed the exam and get the certificate of Prakerin, usefulness of prakerin has been perceived by the school, participant and industry too, only on distribution graduates of TKR to the automotive industries needed to be increased.
